New Year: 3 Daily Exercises To Add Purpose To Your Day

As a personal trainer who is passionate about physical health and fitness, Gabriel Zuniga knows a thing or two about how exercise can add purpose to your day. Daily exercise has helped Gabe get through a number of challenging times in his life, including a painful divorce, living abroad during a pandemic, and building his personal training empire.

Gabriel is the owner of Omnia Fitness, located physically in Vietnam but offering online personal training to anyone in the world. Check out Gabriel’s most recent blog for us, 5 Reasons Exercise is Good for Mental Health, to more fully understand the link between physical exercise and emotional well-being. We asked Gabriel to provide us with a few exercises that you can do everyday that will help with depression, anxiety, and stress, and here is his response:

Exercise and weight loss.

I created OmniaDaily habits to give people quick, easy ways to add in exercise and working out in your daily routine. Our OmniaDaily habits are a series of basic adapting exercises, that when executed daily will help you aid in your workout program. I have found that by dominating a few, easy-at-a-time, mundane movements you can significantly boost energy and enhance your mental mood.

Firstly, the OmniaDaily habits are specifically designed to help aid your physical performance when paired together with a structured workout program. In my work with personal training clients, I have found that challenging you with performing these basic movements on your own can bring up weaker areas that may need more attention. Building these exercises up on your own can translate to a more effective time during a workout session. AKA, it’s GO time!

Next, OmniaDaily habits will get your heart rate increased. And once your heart rate is up, it is more likely that you may continue on with physical movement or exercise. Getting started is often the hardest part, and the 3 exercises below give you a perfect starting point.

Lastly, the mental benefits from these OmniaDaily habits come in a “Win for the day” approach, a very crucial part of having a happier day. I believe in setting up your day at the start for the highest possibility of winning. Upon hearing your alarm in the morning, this can be the trigger to conquer these seemingly mundane but vital physical exercise movements. Conquer your morning depression by using these exercises to help get you out of bed in the morning.

How to exercise without a gym membership.

Wake up and WIN by completing:

  • 2 easy sets of 12-15 push-ups
  • 2 sets of 15-20 air squats
  • 2 sets of 30+ second planks

Notice how you feel after you complete these exercises, both for the first time, and then ongoing. Do you notice any change in your day, or your mood, after doing these daily for 7 days in a row? Are you slightly less anxious starting your day, or perhaps you have a bit more motivation than normal? Or maybe your usual work-related stress seems more manageable today.

Completing your OmniaDaily habits and smashing your daily goals by making them habits can really open up the possibility for happier moments in your day! These exercise habits, once made and then conquered, will give you that indescribable feeling of accomplishment right as your day gets started.
